Profile
I am an experienced primary school teacher and was the Primary Languages Consultant for
Rochdale for 6 years before launching my independent language consultancy in 2011,
followed by the Odette Hunt Network and PQ France Ltd in 2013.
I am passionate about second language learning and my main area of expertise is Primary
French and Spanish. Making language learning accessible and enjoyable for all is a key
driver of my work and I have spearheaded many innovative ideas to develop the skills and
confidence of primary school staff to teach foreign languages.
Other accomplishments in the field of Primary Languages include being a:
• Leader in Primary Languages for CiLT
• regional assessor for the National Primary Languages Quality Mark for Herts for Learning
• tutor for MFL content of ITT at both the Universities of Manchester and Cumbria and for Schools Direct ITT in Calderstone and Bolton
• an ambassador for 5-a-day Fitness
• presenter at international, regional and local primary languages events
• provider of primary languages Subject Leader network meetings for Stockport LA
Through my own local primary languages network, I now work closely with schools from all
over the North West providing support, advice, bespoke training, practical classroom-based
activities and in-class support.
In 2013, I established
PQ France Ltd with my husband, Martin, to offer immersion courses in Carcassonne, France.
These courses are fully funded through the Erasmus+ grants programme.
